Overview

The LiMo (Linux Mobile) Platform is a Linux-based mobile platform operating system.

The LiMo Foundation is wide a industry consortium dedicated to creating the first open, hardware-independent, Linux-based operating system for mobile devices.

The mission of the LiMo Foundation is to create an open, Linux-based software platform to produce mobile devices, aiming to enable a rich ecosystem of differentiated products, applications, and services from device manufacturers, operators, ISVs and integrators.

The LiMo Foundation is not a standards body. It is directly connected to the real business of delivering next generation handsets, applications and services LiMo addresses Middleware at the Operating System level only – avoiding conflict with operators, handset vendors and content providers by not providing the UI or content.
