The LIN bus is low-footprint network (small, slow, cheap) that is used primarily as a sub-network of a
Controller Area Network (CAN)
bus to integrate intelligent sensor devices or actuators in today’s cars.
More recently LIN has been used with the vehicle's battery power-line with a special DC-LIN transceiver.
